Relevant Legal Training and Relevant Legal Practice or Work

To become a “qualified person”, one of the requirements that may be applicable to an overseas graduate is that “for a period of not less than 6 months within a continuous period of 8 months, he has received relevant legal training, has been engaged in relevant legal practice or work, or has received relevant legal training and been engaged in relevant legal practice or work”.

To check if this requirement is applicable to you, please see the guide ‘Am I a Qualified Person?’.

Please refer to the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules for the definitions of "relevant legal training" and "relevant legal practice or work".

Queries about "relevant legal training" and "relevant legal practice or work" should be directed to the Singapore Institute of Legal Education.
