Relocation of Community Mediation Centre (Regional East)

With effect from 28 February 2007, Community Mediation Centre (Regional East) ("CMC RE") located at Marine Parade District Hall moved its operations back to the Community Mediation Unit's Headquarters located at URA Centre East Wing.

At the Mediators' Appreciation Dinner on 17 November 2005, 10 new volunteers were appointed Mediators by DPM and Minister for Law, Prof S Jayakumar under the Community Mediation Centres (CMC) Act.

Community Mediation Centre (Subordinate Courts) Official Opening Ceremony

The Official Opening Ceremony of the Community Mediation Centre (Subordinate Courts) was held on Friday, 15 July 2005 at the Atrium of the Subordinate Courts. This new CMC was officially opened by Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs, Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee and witnessed by Senior District Judge, Mr Richard Magnus.

Youth Project: 'Stepping Out - Active Youths in Words and Actions'

On the morning of 9 June 2005, the Community Mediation Unit (CMU) played host to a group of 24 students from various secondary schools. This was part of a collaborative effort between MinLaw and Nanyang Girls' High School on their Youth Project titled 'Stepping Out - Active Youths in Words and Actions'.

Peer Mediation As A Useful Lifeskill

First National ADR Forum

The inaugural National Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Forum was held on Sat, 15 Jan 2005. The event was one of the initiatives of MinLaw's ADR Advisory Committee to bring members of the ADR community together.
